The Love Confession
(Grell x Reader 3)

(Author’s note:  Here is part 3 as requested by “BlueBird853”!  I hope you enjoy it :D!)

“Isn’t it wonderful~!”  Grell exclaimed in the most girlish way imaginable.  You grinned as you glanced around the garden.  The theme was red.  There were red tablecloths on the tables, red roses, and even the chairs were made of cherrywood.  You had insisted on a white accent, however.  Too much red made your head hurt (which was ironic considering you were marrying a Shinigami obsessed with the color red).
“You’ve been planning this for a long time, haven’t you?” You asked flatly.  An anime sweat-drop appeared on your forehead.
“Mmmhmm~!”  Grell smiled, flashing you his jagged teeth.  He kicked his heel up and clasped his hands.  “I never imagined I’d be marrying you, though!”
You arched an eyebrow curiously.  “Oh, really?”
“No!  Never!”
You put a hand on your hip and thrummed your fingers irritably.
“And why’s that?”
Grell shrugged and stared at you with wide, innocent eyes.  “I dunno.  I just didn’t.  After all, we were like best friends before I read your diary.”
You frowned slightly.  Your irritation had turned into concern.  “Yeah…”
Grell took a small pocket-watch out of his pocket and glanced at the time.  His smile widened.
“Not long now~!  Details, details,” he hummed.  He tapped his lips thoughtfully.  “I have to go see a guy about a piano.  I’ll see you at the altar, Darling~!”
Grell kissed your forehead before walking back towards the mansion.  You watched him with the same, sad expression.  ‘Best friends…’

                                                                                ~An hour later~
You had stared at yourself in the mirror.  You didn’t look anything like the maid of Phantomhive manor.  Your hair was curled artfully around your face so that it framed it just right, and your makeup was done carefully so that it just added to your natural beauty.  You should have been happy…but something was nagging you in the back of your mind.  You stood and twirled.  Your dress swirled around you and brushed against your ankles.  A crimson band ran across your waist.  It was decorated in small rubies that sparkled and shimmered in the light.  You tried to smile, but you couldn’t.  You glanced at the time and knew that you should be heading out to the garden.

As you walked down the aisle, a long veil hid your face.  You were kind of glad.  You didn’t want your fiancé to see you so miserable.  Grell took your hand as you stood in front of the preacher.  You found it rather ironic that he was marrying a Shinigami and a human, but…you did want a normal wedding.
“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today…” Your brain tuned out the rest of the long speech.  You felt a gentle squeeze as Grell whispered the words ‘I do’.  As the preached turned to you, you nodded once.
“I do.”
“You may now kiss the bride.” The preacher said happily as he closed his Bible.
Grell lifted the veil and kissed you gently.  As he did so, a single tear slid down your cheek.  He raised his hand to your face and his eyes flashed open as he realized that you were crying.  As you parted he gave you a confused look.
“What’s wrong, _____?”  He asked seriously.
You swallowed back a thick lump that had formed in your throat.  No one else seemed to notice that anything was wrong.  The few people that had gathered to view your wedding were chatting excitedly.  You shook your head.
“I’m fine.”
Grell frowned.  He gripped your hand and pulled you away from the crowd swiftly.  You had told hold up your dress to keep from stumbling.
“Now tell me,” he said once you were completely alone.  You looked away.  Not only did you not WANT to say it, you didn’t know how to.  Grell rolled his eyes.  “Tell.  Me.”
“You said that you never thought we’d ever get married.  Am I just like some kind of last resort?”  You blurted out.  Your vision grew blurry as hot tears spilled down your cheeks.  Grell seemed shocked.  He shook his head and cupped your face in his hands, wiping the tears away with a gentle swipe of his thumbs.
“Never,” he assured you.  “You are not a last resort, _____.  I love you.  It’s as simple as that.”
You frowned slightly.  “Are you sure?”
Grell pressed his forehead against yours and stared into your eyes.
“Completely,” he assured you.
You smiled.  Grell leaned forwards slightly and closed his eyes when suddenly someone cleared their throat.  You both turned and saw Sebastian standing a few feet away.
“The guests are wondering if you’re going to cut the cake…” He informed you both rather stiffly.  He seemed to be more than a little uncomfortable.  “Would you mind holding off on the honeymoon for a few more hours?”
You laughed cheerfully and nodded.  You wiped the remainder of your tears away and smiled at your new husband.
“I think we’re going to make an interesting couple.”
He winked at you.  “We’re simply fabulous together, Darling~.”

THE END~
I finally got this done! I am so sorry that it took so long and I hope you all enjoy it :). This was a request (as I said up at the top). I hope that everyone who reads it enjoys it as much as the first two. I love writing about Grell and I love reading your comments on my stories! Thanks so much for reading :D!
