Reminds Me of You
(Kisame Hoshigaki x Reader 3)
Your eye twitched as you stared at the door. You had been in the same position for over an hour, waiting on Kisame to enter so that you could give him a “proper” greeting (proper meaning you were going to try to scare his blue skin white). It had been almost a month, and he was finally due back any time now.
As your eyelids grew heavy, your thoughts began bogging you down. What would you do if he didn’t return from a mission someday? What if you didn’t have him around to annoy twenty-four\seven? What would you do then?
“I’m pretty useless to this organization…” You yawned, causing the mattress to shift and jiggle beneath your stomach. Lying your head down on the thin sheets, the soothing cool seeped through the thin material and eased the dull ache behind your left temple. “I’m just a flea…”
~FIVE HOURS LATER~
Kisame sighed as he trudged his way down the hall towards his room. His bag seemed much heavier than before, despite the fact that he had discarded most of its contents on the mission. Allowing a quiet yawn to escape his mouth, he froze as he saw you sleeping soundly on his bed.
“Brat…” He muttered, a small grin present on his face. Kneeling in front of you, he saw that your lips were parted and there was a small puddle of drool soaking his bed-sheets. “I’m making you clean that up, you know.”
No reply. You were completely out of it. Kisame rolled his eyes and shoved his hand into his bag, fumbling around for something. When he finally found it, he placed it beside you and stood.
“You said for me to bring you something that reminded me of you,” the ninja sighed, his eyes flickering to the small music box. “Well, I guess that thing kinda reminds me of you. You’re cheerful and happy, and you’re always there, like background music. You’ve got a quirky tune, but you’re not something I’d stop listening to, simply because you make things a lot livelier…” Kisame paused awkwardly. He began massaging his neck as he approached the door. “Guess I’ll sleep in your room since you decided to hog mine.”
“WHEN DID YOU PUT A PADLOCK ON IT?!”
A small smile stretched across your face as you continued to sleep peacefully.
