Moles at Tea Time
(Finny x Reader)

“So…what’s the emergency?”  You watched as the adorable blond glanced around the yard carefully.  He leaned forwards and cupped his hand over his mouth.
“Moles,” he whispered.
You blinked a few times.  “Say what now?”
“Moles!  There’s an infestation!”  Finny exclaimed.  His turquoise eyes were frantic with worry.  His delicate brows furrowed slightly.  “They’re digging up the young master’s lawn!”
You stared blankly at the gardener.  It was scorching hot.  Sun was glistening off of your forehead and your clothes were sticking to you uncomfortably.  All you wanted to do was enjoy a nice, cool glass of lemonade but instead you were supposed to spend the evening mole catching?  You sighed.
“So why did you call me?”
Finny blinked a few times.  He stared at you with an innocent expression.  “Because I knew you’d help me and wouldn’t tell Mister Sebastian.  I was supposed to put out some mole poison last month but didn’t.  Now there’s just too many!”
You thought for a moment.  Finny watched you expectantly.  “Fine…but you owe me a proper date, Mister!”
“Oh, thank you!”
Before you could react, Finny wrapped you into an enthusiastic hug.  You blushed slightly.  You might have enjoyed it…had he not been crushing your spine.
“F-Finny!”  You gasped.  “Y-You’re h-h-hurting…me!”
Finny released you and frowned slightly.  A large blush sprawled across his cheeks.  “S-Sorry about that.  Now let’s get this done with!  I can just see the look on Mister Sebastian’s face if he finds out…”
You both pictured Sebastian, his crimson eyes dark and serious, his arms folded and a gloved finger tapping his forearm irritably.  You shuddered.  The man was terrifying when he wanted to be.

You made your way around the lawn slowly.  There were several bulges where the moles had made their pathways underground.  Mounds were everywhere.  Finny tipped his head back and sighed dramatically.
“What are we going to do?!”
You tapped your lips with your index finger thoughtfully.  There were certainly a lot of them.  The lawn was a mess.  You idly wondered how Sebastian hadn’t already noticed the infestation.
“Well…we could-”
You were distracted by a large bullfrog.  It let out a loud, guttural croak and hopped into the small fishpond nearby.  You tilted your head slightly.
“Miss ______?  What are you doing here?”
You glanced over your shoulder and saw the redheaded maid of the Phantomhive manor.  She watched you with a confused expression.  Finny scratched his neck nervously and laughed slightly.
“Sh-She’s helping me with…the problem,” he whispered the last part much too low for the maid to hear.  She merely shrugged and smiled.
“Is there any way I can help?”
“You can be the lookout,” you suggested.  Finny nodded quickly.
“Yes, yes!  That’d be helpful!  If you see Sebastian coming, come and warn us immediately.  Got it?”
Mey-Rin tilted her head slightly and pointed past Finny’s shoulder.  “He’s coming right now.”
You and Finny snapped your heads around and saw the devilishly handsome butler walking in your general direction.  He slid his reading glasses up onto the bridge of his nose as he read the list that Ciel had given him.  He sighed.
“What do we do?  What do we do?  What do we do?!”  Finny panicked.  He paced back and forth nervously.
“Calm down!”  You commanded in a harsh whisper.
Before you could say anything else, the inhumanly strong gardener picked up Mey-Rin and tossed her into the fishpond.  You blinked a few times and watched as the maid flailed her arms and kicked her legs frantically.
“H-Help!”  She squealed.  As soon as she opened her mouth, a large amount of water entered it, causing her to choke.  Sebastian glanced up and ran towards the drowning Mey-Rin with a shocked expression on his face.  Finny grabbed your wrist and took off in the opposite direction.
“Why did you do that?!”  You snapped.  Finny blushed slightly and shrugged.  He stopped running and gasped for air.  The two of you leaned against a large oak tree.
“I…panicked,” he said in between pants.  You sighed and massaged your forehead.  A migraine was forming.
“Finny…sweetie…you can’t throw people just because you’re panicking,” you explained slowly.  The gardener eyed you sheepishly.
“I know…I’m sorry.”
“Tell that to Mey-Rin the next time you see her.”  You narrowed your eyes and shielded them from the sun.  You saw Sebastian walking Mey-Rin back towards the mansion.  She was still coughing up pond water.  “Now…back to the problem at hand.”
Finny straightened slightly and nodded. You both thought for a moment.
“You could call in a professional,” you suggested.
Finny shook his head.  “Not enough time.”
“You could…”
“I got it!”  Finny snapped his fingers and his eyes lit up excitedly.  You opened your mouth to speak but he was already gone.  “Stay there!  I’ll be right back!”

                                                                   ~An hour and a half later~
You tapped your foot impatiently on the well-trimmed grass.  An irritable sigh escaped your lips as you checked your watch.  You tipped your head back and groaned loudly.  “Fiiiinnnnyyyyyyyy!”
“Yes?”  You glanced to your left and saw the gardener standing beside you with two glasses of pink lemonade in his hands.  You immediately snatched one of them and gulped it down quickly.  You stared at the empty glass…blinked a few times…then slung it over your shoulder and began drinking the second glass.  Finny laughed slightly and smiled.
“Thirsty?”
“Dehydrated,” you corrected him flatly.  “Where have you been?  I’m burning up!”
Finny extended his hand to you.  He smiled brightly.  “Come see!”

You opened your mouth, then closed it.  You were searching for the right words.  Stupid?  Terrible?  A bad idea?  All of them fit the scene before you quite well.  Finny watched you with an eager look on his face.
“Someone told me that if you pour water into a mole hole, it’ll chase the mole right out!”  He explained.  “It took some doing…but I used this device that allows you to attach multiple hoses and I plugged up all of the mole holes!  I’ll wash them right out!”
You sighed and smacked yourself in the forehead.  You didn’t want to kill Finny’s excitement.  He was just so darn cute!
“Oy…I think I need an aspirin…”
Finny ignored you and ran over to the spigot.  He began turning it.

“Your tea, Sir,” Sebastian bowed slightly as he poured the young master his tea.  Ciel glanced up from his paper and watched his butler with an impassive expression.
“The stock market is down,” he said flatly.  “And on top of that, this summer is supposed to be a dry one.  No rain.”
“That’s unusual,” Sebastian frowned slightly.  “We do live in London, after all…”
Ciel sighed and fanned himself with his paper.  The sun was blazing.  Just then Mey-Rin walked over holding a tray of cakes.  “Why did I want to drink my tea out on the patio again?  Bring me an umbrella for shade, would you…”
Mey-Rin bobbed a short curtsey and turned on her heel.  “Right away, Sir!”

Finny turned the spigot until it stopped.  He waited for a moment.  There was a low rumbling sound.  It grew louder…and louder…  You began backing away slowly.
“Um…Finny…how much water pressure did you use?”
Finny tilted his head and stared at you innocently.  “Well I turned it until it stopped…”
Your eyes widened.  “Uh-oh…”
Without warning, the ground erupted into a giant geyser.  You and Finny watched as the column of water reached for the sky.  Muddy water and clumps of grass landed all around.  You sighed and blocked your face from some of the falling grime.  Finny stared with wide eyes at the disaster that he had caused.
“D…Do you think he’ll notice?”  He asked quietly.
You shrugged.  “Nah.”

Ciel frowned as a large clump of grass and dirt landed in his tea.  Sebastian sighed and began brushing soil off of his shoulders.  He took a few steps forwards and glanced in the direction of the geyser.  Finny and you laughed nervously as a huge wad of mud landed on top of his head.  He began trembling with suppressed anger.
“H-Hi, Mister Sebastian!”  You called out.  “Master Ciel, I see you put in a pool!  How delightful!”
Ciel opened his mouth to speak when a large mole plopped down into his cup.  He stared at it.  There was a moment of silence.  Sebastian shook his head slowly as Mey-Rin appeared with a large umbrella.  She placed it above his head.  Ciel smacked his cup down onto the table and pinched the bridge of his nose between his thumb and index finger.
“I’ve heard of it raining cats and dogs…but this is simply ridiculous,” He said finally.  “Sebastian…please get me more tea.  There’s a mole in my cup.”

THE END~
I know that this isn't your usual Finny x Reader. It's more of a comedy. But when I got the idea I just had to write it! My mom helped me think of part of it xD. The ending, hers. The maid throwing, also hers. She's awesome! I look forwards to reading your comments :)
