Ain’t It Fun
(Kisuke Urahara x Reader 2)

(Author’s note: This is part two of my request from “awsome2121”.  Enjoy!)

“All done…”  You sighed as you placed the mop back into the bucket of muddy water.  You wiped the sweat off of your forehead with the back of your hand and glanced at the clock.  It was late.  You had worked over again.  Your eyes narrowed a bit.  “He could at least pay me over-time for all the extra work I put in…”

You jumped as something shattered behind you.  Your head snapped in the direction of the sound to see Ururu standing in front of a broken vase, her large puppy-dog eyes filled with tears.  Her whole body was trembling as she tried to suppress a crying fit.

“I-I’m sorry,” she apologized.  You gave her a half-hearted smile as you pulled the broom from its hanging-place in the closet and began sweeping up the jagged pieces of porcelain.  Ururu immediately ran to fetch the dust-pan and squatted down to catch the pieces as you swept them towards her.  Once you were sure they were all gone, you gave the shy young girl a thumbs-up.

“There!  Now no one needs to know!”  You said cheerfully.  Ururu smiled sheepishly and nodded.

“Thank you.  I’m glad Jinta isn’t here…he’d be so mad,” she murmured.  You frowned slightly and knelt so that you were face-to-face with Ururu.  You placed a hand on her head.

“If he starts bullying you, just come get me, okay?  I’ll put a stop to it,” you assured her seriously.  Ururu nodded.

“Okay.  Thank you, ______.”

“No problem.  Now get out of here.  I’ll lock up before I head home.”  You stood and stretched out your aching back.  Ururu flashed you a cute smile before dashing upstairs.

“You handled that really well,” a familiar voice said from behind.  You placed the broom into the closet and shut it before turning towards Kisuke who was leaning against the wall across from you.  “I’m impressed.  There’s a lot more to you than meets the eye.”

A tired smile graced your facial features as you trudged your way over to the counter where your pay was lying.  Kisuke pushed off of the wall and ran his hand across the cash-register.  As he rubbed his fingers together, a satisfied grin stretched across his face.

“You’re working hard,” he noted.  You turned and leaned your back against the counter.  You tried to suppress a yawn, but failed miserable.  Kisuke smiled and lifted you up by your waist, placing you on the counter.  For once, you felt taller than him.  You crossed your legs and let them dangle freely in the air.

“Yeah, well…”  You paused and arched an eyebrow curiously.  Kisuke wasn’t wearing his hat.  His pale gray eyes weren’t shaded like they usually were.  His face and hair were totally visible.  He was like a totally different person…an ATTRACTIVE person at that.  You blushed slightly.

“Something wrong?”  Kisuke asked.  His hands were positioned on either side of you on the edge of the counter.  He smiled impishly.

“N-No…of course not.”  You cleared your throat and slid off of the counter.  Your blush grew as you realized that you were trapped.  The feeling didn’t last long, however.  Kisuke stepped aside and gestured towards the door.

“It’s late.  You should probably be getting home.”

“Right…”  You took a few steps forwards but stopped as a sudden wave of vertigo hit you.  You felt a gentle pressure on your shoulders as Kisuke steadied you.

“How about I walk you home?”  He suggested.  You felt him snake his arm around your waist.

“That won’t be necessary…I’m-”

“Fine?”  Kisuke interrupted.  “No you’re not.  Don’t lie.  You’ve been working too hard.  Let me help you.”

A small smile graced your features.  “Yeah…okay…”

Jinta and Ururu watched from between the railings above.  Jinta looked slightly annoyed and possibly a bit disgusted whereas Ururu was smiling gently.

“That’s all he needs…ANOTHER distraction,” Jinta snorted.  Ururu giggled.

“I think it’s nice…”

He glared at her and smacked his fist down onto her head.  “YOU would.  She’s going to be pretty ticked when she comes into work tomorrow, though…”

Ururu’s smile faded as she massaged her scalp.  “Oh, yeah…I almost forgot…”

To be Continued…
Here's part two! I hope you all are enjoying it so far! Btw I am so sorry if the details of the Urahara shop are wrong...I can not remember what it looks like to save my life O.o
